Louis Road | Eichler Neighborhood Palo Alto

  • In Palo Alto just south of Loma Verde Road, there is a small stretch of Eichler homes on Louis Road. These nine Eichlers are actually a part of the larger Los Arboles Eichler tract. The Los Arboles Eichler neighborhood began construction in 1959 and ended in 1691. Los Arboles encompasses the streets of Holly Oak Drive, Cork Oak Way, and Ames Avenue between Middlefield and Ross Road. There are 86 homes in the Los Arboles tract and they were designed by architect Jones & Emmons. Homes in this neighborhood are Eichler through and through with their iconic gabled rooflines, transom windows, and central patios. Part of Eichlers design was to keep all utilities underground giving the neighborhood a very clean and natural look. Residents here love the quiet and safe feeling that comes with living in an Eichler neighborhood. With wide streets and cul-de-sac, Los Arboles is a great neighborhood for families as well as professionals looking for a prime Palo Alto location. Today Los Arboles is still a beloved Eichler neighborhood with residents who continue to uphold Eichlers ideals of community living. As an older neighborhood, Los Arboles has watched Palo Alto and the greater Silicon Valley transform into the bay area we know today. Now, the Palo Alto area is one of the most sought-after places to live in the state. As a worldwide tech hub, Palo Alto is home to companies like HP, Tesla, Skype, and VMware with tech giants Apple, Google, and Facebook all in neighboring cities. The Palo Alto School District is currently ranked #1 in the state of California and there are a plethora of top-ranked private schools in and around the city. Downtown Palo Alto is a charming combination of small-town accessibility and urban ambiance. Outdoor cafes, tiny coffee shops, bookstores, mom-and-pop specialty shops, national chains, art galleries, two movie theaters and numerous restaurants attract shoppers, eaters and entertainment-seekers of all ages.
